I have already accepted this is a foregone thing, but I’m worried about how my kids will take it when she does pass away. I would like to read the books now so I can help them deal during this difficult time. I’m going to need a few books also as I have kids ranging in age from 17 to six months. I’m sure I will need to explain it to each child differently due to this.

My boss has been out from work for over a week now. I called to check up on him yesterday and his wife said he is having a hard time dealing with his grief. His dad recently died after a long bout with cancer. From what his wife says, my boss is feeling guilty because he is glad in some ways that his dad passed away. I can understand this. I lost my brother to cancer and, when you see them in so much pain, you almost wish God would take them. I felt guilty too so I know exactly where he is coming from.

My grandmother passed away three months ago and I seem to be hit by grief at the oddest times. Last night I picked up the phone and called her before remembering that she was gone. It broke my heart all over again. I knew she would pass away eventually as she was 96 years old. I thought I was prepared for her to go to heaven, but apparently not. The rest of the evening I would cry at the drop of a hat. My husband just doesn’t understand and I can’t explain it to him. I can’t even figure it out myself.

A larger number of American citizens are required to make a choice between cremations and funerals for themselves. Several reasons for increasing number of cremations include rising awareness, greater acceptability, environmental concerns, and reducing religious restrictions. However, before you decide on whether it is a right option for you, it is recommended that you find out the entire process.

An important consideration for choosing cremations is the increasing cost of conducting funerals. Moreover, if the person who has passed away is not covered with an insurance coverage, the cost of a complete service can be very high and may become unaffordable for most people. Therefore, you may need to choose another option to lay your loved one to peace.

Another factor that plays a vital role in the type of ceremony chosen is the manner in which the person has passed away. Sometimes, you may lose a close relative in an accident that leaves the body brutally damaged. In this instance, the condition may not be appropriate for public viewing and may cause great trauma to the family members. You may not opt for the traditional burial services.

More and more people are now choosing to plan the manner in which they want to be laid to rest. Therefore, if your loved one has chosen to not have the traditional service, it becomes important for the family members to follow his/her wish. Moreover, the family may decide to keep the service private and small. They may not choose the traditional burial services to lay down the deceased person to rest.

You can choose between direct or the traditional cremation service. In the direct method, the body is not embalmed and there will be no public viewing of the deceased individual. On the other hand, if you choose the traditional method, the body is prepared for public viewing before it is cremated.

Family members can either take the body to a funeral home that offers cremation services or to the crematorium that handles only this process. An important point you need to be aware is that before the actual process begins, you will need to remove all kinds of non-organic implements, such as jewelry, pacemaker, or dental works. Moreover, you will have to inform the concerned people if the deceased person has been using any implants, such as knee or hip replacements and any other metallic components that will need to be removed.

The crematorium is comprised of a huge incinerator that is used to place the body and the temperature of this device is between 1400 and 1800 degree Fahrenheit. The burning process can take between one and three hours and depends on the size of the body. Some of the bigger bones that do not reduce to ashes are pulverized with the aid of another machine.

After the process is complete, you will receive the ashes in a regular cardboard or plastic container. You can either choose to scatter these ashes or preserve them in special urns available for this purpose. However, while choosing between cremations and funerals, you need to consider your personal choice along with the wishes of your family members to ensure no feelings are hurt.
